Coach's Bio

Coach Lauren Kriegel graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University. Lauren loves working with kids and plans to specialize in pediatric orthopedic rehabilitation upon earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and licensure. In addition to being a competitive figure skater for 16 years and a staff-coach for 1 year, Lauren also has experience as a group fitness instructor, physical therapy technician, and exercise prescription & behavior change mentor. Coaching skating is Lauren’s favorite job, and she feels it is a wonderful way to share her love for the sport with others. Along with teaching strong fundamentals, Lauren strives to build poise and determination in her students. She hopes the addition of this off-ice specialty class to the Polar Ice Gilbert Skating Program will enrich the development of our skaters, both on the ice and in life.
